Drake Hokanson

Drake Hokanson, (Mass Communication) is director of the Center for Mississippi River Studies steering committee, and with his background in American Studies, approaches the river in a broad interdisciplinary fashion, sometimes in a canoe, sometimes in a Cessna, usually with a camera. As an author and photographer, his books include Lincoln Highway: Main Street across America and Reflecting a Prairie Town: A Year in Peterson. Forthcoming with co-author and spouse Carol Kratz is Purebred and Home-Grown: America's County Fairs. While he has not yet started a book about the Mississippi, he's tempted.
