About the Project: This project is the culmination of a month long trip to China sponsored by the Fulbright-Hays Seminar Abroad program in conjunction with the National Committee for U.S. China Relations.
Course Objectives: The materials presented here are designed to empower a curriculum unit introducing Chinese Literature.
Target Audience: Twelfth grade high-school and/or junior college world literature students.

Summary of Curriculum Project: The slide show starts with the two traditions of Chinese Literature and then explores the lives and writings of four of China’s best known writers. Teacher notes are included. (These notes are viewed in the “Notes View” within PowerPoint.) The end of each section has questions for the classroom teacher to use to enhance discussion within the class. Works cited and suggestions for further reading are also included within the slide set. Additional selections from each of the four writers discussed are included in an additional Word document. These materials are presented as a template for use by anyone. Teachers are welcome and encouraged to edit materials to best suit their needs.
