2011-12 Common Book Nominations

All WSU community members, students, staff, faculty, and administrators are welcome to propose nominations for a "Common Book" selection for the 2011-12 academic year.
The eventual selection ought to be one that is engaging, challenging, teachable, and interdisciplinary, written by an author who is available, affordable, and willing to work with WSU students. The selection will be taught in a number of WSU classes, including many sections of English 111, College Reading and Writing, and related programming normally includes include visits, lectures, and workshops offered by the author.

The University-Wide Theme for 2011-12 is “Home and Place” and is designed to allow students to explore the many definitions and meanings of home – a physical place, the university, a neighborhood, town, state, country, geographic area, and planet – and their roles in each. Nominations that address this theme are encouraged.

The nomination process will continue through December 15, 2010.
